- Shut the blinds during the day to keep the sun’s heat out and cool air in. Open blinds (and windows) at night to flush out the relatively warmer air and bring in the cool night air.
- Use ceiling fans – air movement disperses hot and cold areas more evenly, helping your current system work a little more efficiently.
- Replace or clean your filter; in general, filters should be replaced every three months to keep systems running smoothly.
- Make the most of a programmable thermostat and limit the work the system has to do during the day, especially when family members are elsewhere.
