15 SUPER FUN Things to do in Denver this summer!
The weather is getting warmer, the days are getting longer, and the bug spray and sunscreen are back on the shelves, which means that summer must be right around the corner! Summers in Denver are beautiful—with our world famous sunsets, incredible food and wine festivals, and outstanding arts scenes. Here are some of the most fun activities you can do to make sure you’ll have an awesome summer!
The Stapleton summer Movie Series is a great free event that takes place every other week this summer! It is the perfect excuse to pack a picnic and see a film outdoors on a warm summer night. Taking place on the Founders Green, catch Black Panther on June 14, A League of their Own on June 28, Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse on July 12, Crazy Rich Asians on July 26, or The Incredibles 2 on August 9. Alternatively, if film isn’t really your thing, stop by Theatre On the Green on August 15, 16, or 17 to see a stunning live theatrical performance, show tbd.
Another event taking place on the Founder’s Green is Stapleton’s Concert on the Green series this summer! Enjoy acts such as the Soul School Band on June 22, That Eighties Band on July 6, or R&B Tribute Bands on August 3. It’s going to be a musical blast!
Yet another fun-filled Stapleton event taking place every Thursday evening this summer is the MoJaBlu concert series, an event jam-packed with Motown, Jazz and Blues on Conservatory Green at 49th Place and Valentia Street. With a different band performing each week, Thumpin’ on June 13, The Hot Lunch Band on June 20, Hazel Miller on June 27, Tunisia on July 11, Dotsero on July 18, PG6IX on July 25, Ron Ivory Motown Experience on August 1, and the Wash Park Band on August 8, the event is fresh and exciting each week, so stop on by!
If you’re feeling up for a drive, visit one of Colorado’s most beautiful and historic locations, Red Rocks Amphitheatre, to see their Film on the Rocks series. Featuring Mean Girls on June 17, Top Gun on July 1, The Mighty Ducks on August 5, or Free Solo on August 19.
Awaken your inner chivalrous knight or dangerous dragon at the Colorado Renaissance Festival! Quest out to Larkspur to join in on this summer of revelry on June 15-16, 22-23, 29-30; July 6-7, 13-14, 20-21, 27-28; or August 3-4 2019!
Ever wanted to know more about history’s most famous Renaissance man? Learn more about the Inventor, artist, scientist, anatomist, engineer, architect, sculptor, and philosopher Leonardo da Vinci at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science through August 25.

Go Hog Wild at this summer’s Denver BBQ Festival from June 14-16 at Mile High Stadium! Featuring the delicious food from 6 states and 11 fantastic chefs!
This July 12-14, in our very own City Park, come enjoy the Colorado Black Arts festival, a celebration of African American Culture in our great state! Featuring the music of Eric Darius and Le’Andria Johnson, this is a must see event that spans three days- the perfect opportunity to educate yourself and cultivate appreciation in black culture!
Come celebrate Denver’s diversity at the Denver International Festival on August 3! This Festival is the largest festival in the city honoring the music, food, and art of many global cultures! It’s a must see explosion on flavor, music, and multicultural beauty, so stop on by!
City Park Jazz offers 10 FREE Concerts throughout the course of the summer, entertaining and cultivating a love of music in our community for almost 130 years. So pack a picnic and meet up with friends at City Park to see Hazel Miller on June 16, Dotsero on June 23, Buckner FunkenJazz on June 30, Invisible Bird on July 7, Conjunto Colores on July 14, Freddy Rodriguez and the Jazz Connection on July 28, The Heavy Heavies Featuring Venus Cruz on August 4, and a special event called the Brass Band Extravaganza on July 21, with such artists as Badda Boom Brass Band, Tivoli Club Brass Band, and Guerilla Fanfare stopping by to jam. It’s going to be a lot of fun!
Jefferson Park invites you to relax, gather and connect with your family, friends & neighbors while enjoying great music on July 28 or August 25. This is a FREE live music experience. Bring a blanket and picnic or dine from a selection of delicious food trucks! Bands tbd.
Museum Free Days
Looking for a way to enrich yourself and have fun for free this summer? Denver’s many museums, gardens, and attractions all have free days coming up! Stop by the Denver Museum of Nature and Science on July 2 or August 28; the Denver Art Museum on July 6 or August 3; the Clyfford Still Museum on June 18, July 17, or August 3; The Botanic Gardens on July 10; and the Children’s Museum on July 2 or August 6 to enjoy free admission!
